Social Impact Group in Scotland

the first learning event of the Social Impact Group in Scotland, to be held from 9.30am til noon on Wednesday, 18th May at the Friends Meeting House in Edinburgh.

The event offers an opportunity to meet members of the Scotland Funders’ Forum, to find out how they are addressing social impact measurement in their funding policies and practice and to consider ways in which we could generate greater social impact in the future.

It will be a participative event, with structured sessions for discussion and reflection.

How are funders addressing social impact measurement in their funding policies and practices? What challenges does this throw up for funders, applicants, those in receipt of funding and for evaluating social impact? Are there ways in which we could work better together, or might different perspectives generate greater social impact in the long term?

There is no charge for this event – which will provide an informal opportunity for those who are involved in measuring social impact to broaden their knowledge and reflect on relevant issues.

It is the first of three events to be held this year. Further sessions will be:

  • 29 September 2011, and
  • 14 December 2011

If you have any suggestions for topics, speakers or feedback, please contact Sue Sadler (or VAF Chief Exec Keith Wimbles who is a member of the voluntary organising panel).
